Sink or Float: Outdoor Science Fun!
Grab a container of water and head outside! Today we're exploring nature to see which materials staying on top and which sink to the bottom. It's time to be a nature scientist!
1. Small Sticks
Drop a few sticks in the water. Wood is light and full of air. What happens?
2. Heavy Stones
Small or big, stones are dense. Watch them travel quickly to the bottom!
3. Dry Leaves
Place a leaf gently on the surface. They act like little boats on the water.
4. Wood Chips
Try different sizes. Do small bits float just like the big sticks do?
Bonus Challenge!
Can you make a stone float? Try placing it on top of a big leaf or a group of sticks. Building a nature raft is science in action!
